Excellent opportunity to join Westpac's Risk DivisionHow will I help? This role supports the risk management and monitoring including the implementation and adherence to the risk management framework, policies and controls across the Cash and Transactional Banking Line of Business (LoB).
As a team member of the Go to Market Business Controls and Monitoring team (line 1 risk), the Senior Manager plays a key role in supporting the Acquisition & Activation and Lifecycle & Experience product teams within the Cash & Transactional Banking LoB on all matters risks and controls and supporting implementation of solutions to risk and control problems.
It is an expectation of this role to support a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.
As part of a team of risk professionals, contribute to ensuring risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of the LoB, Division and Group, and be a trusted risk adviser.
This will include staying abreast of changes to policy requirements/guidance and supporting the Village with understanding/embedding rolling out these changes.Provide risk expertise in navigating incident and issue rectification, remediation, and regulatory updates, including:Leading incident verification and root cause analysis activities within required SLAsLeading issue and credible path formation with the businessFacilitate effective collation of information to support compliance assessment within required timeframesSupport regulatory notices, ensuring factual accuracy of information summarising the breach, root cause, rectification, and remediation activities within required reporting timeframesEnhancing issues and incident management practicesMonitor and track sustainable rectification and remediationEnsuring any impacts to the Value Chain risk profile as a result of incidents and issues are appropriately considered and updated.Provide controls expertise to assist with identification, uplift or building of controls within the Village:Testing the design and operating effectiveness of those controls.Authoring papers to contribute to CTB Risk Committees and other governance forums using data driven insights.Performing thematic deep-dives from beginning to end, leading to actionable insights and recommendations for the business and other stakeholders.
This includes but is not limited to scenario analysis, root cause analysis, read-across, thematic incident analysis, and key control gap analysis.What do I need? To be successful in this role you will have 5 - 10 years' experience working in a similar role.
You will be an experience risk management professional with strong banking/ financial services background.
You will have strong risk management, operational risk, legal or compliance experience with relevant industry qualifications (risk, compliance or business-related) being desirable but not essential.
You will have the ability to build relationships and work as part of a team, and be proactive, organised and outcomes focused.
You will have a strong customer focus and be able to work autonomously.
