You will join our Financial Control team supporting Westpac's Institutional Banking (WIB) and Group Treasury Finance.
This role plays a vital role in providing financial control support, advice and solutions to all business units within WIB and Group Treasury Finance. The successful candidate for this role will have a high visibility to the WIB Finance management team in leading the control improvement process and driving the accounting review outcome for each project impacting WIB Finance.
You will also: Critically evaluate the financial accounting treatment and control outcome for each new project/product impacting WIB FinanceSupport the business to drive a strong control culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiativesAssist in any deep dive initiative in closing out control gaps identified in activities performed across WIB and Group Treasury FinanceResponsible for the quality of statutory reporting monthly data that we generate for the wider WIB and Group Treasury Finance teamSupport management in the identification and troubleshooting of accounting issues in WIB and Group Treasury product systems such as Murex and CalypsoAssist in rolling out various Financial Control guidelines/policies for the WIB and Group Treasury Finance teamParticipate in other ad-hoc activities in enhancing the control environment across the teamProvide expertise to the business in the assessment and review of half yearly accounts as part of the Financial Assurance Certificate (FAC) attestation process What do I need?
