The Role Southern Ports is recruiting a Senior Manager – Finance Business Partner to join their team in Perth, Bunbury, Albany or Esperance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational decision-making processes of our port business. This position requires a strong financial acumen combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with various stakeholders across the organisation. Key accountabilities and functions will include analysis, guidance, and strategic recommendations to enhance business performance and drive growth.
Key Duties Lead and develop a small team of finance professionals, providing mentorship and guidance. Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Manage the price-setting process, ensuring pricing strategies align with government regulations, business goals and market conditions. Partnering with the Commercial and Engineering team, oversee and manage the sustaining capital expenditure portfolio. Lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets. Implement performance management frameworks to track KPIs and operational metrics. Facilitate regular business reviews and discussions with operational leaders to drive accountability and performance improvement. Collaborate closely with operational teams to understand business drivers and challenges. Managing relationships with WA government stakeholders. Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business initiatives. The Expertise Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA / CA, or equivalent professional qualification. 10+ years of experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in a business partnering and senior financial management position. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic thinking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
