About the Role South Bank Corporation is seeking an accomplished professional with national and global event expertise to assist in the curation and delivery of the events calendar leading up to Brisbane 2032. As Senior Manager, you will spearhead the strategic planning, acquisition, and management of innovative events that captivate and inspire. Overseeing a talented team of event planners, you'll deliver a calendar of high-quality events and activations that elevate South Bank's reputation as a world-class destination. Your role will also focus on building strategic partnerships, fostering innovation, and delivering sustainable events that leave a legacy for locals and international visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities: Curate Excellence: Design and deliver exceptional, innovative events that align with South Bank's vision, emphasizing sustainability and long-term impact.Inspire Teams: Lead and empower a team of event professionals to execute events, ensuring every detail is handled with care.Foster Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including event promoters, government agencies, sponsors, and suppliers.Drive Innovation: Identify new opportunities to enhance event value and protect South Bank's reputation as Brisbane's premier precinct.Strategic Planning: Work with the GM of CX in developing business cases and reports to secure funding, sponsorships, and guide decision-making.To succeed in this role, here's what you'll need: Qualifications: Tertiary education in Arts, Business, Tourism, Event Management, or a related field.Event Expertise: Proven experience in delivering large-scale music, festival, retail, community and fan-based events, coupled with experience in working for/with Government entities.Industry Knowledge: A strong existing network and reputation in the industry with expert knowledge in crisis management, protocols, allocation of resources, operational needs, risk assessments etc.Visionary Leadership: A strategic operator with a track record of inspiring and developing teams and delivering ambitious goals.Global Perspective: Extensive knowledge and experience in producing successful national and international large-scale events.Commercial Acumen: Exceptional negotiation, strategic planning, and budget management skills with the proven ability to drive revenue through strategic partnerships.Why Join South Bank Corporation?
