An exciting role for a passionate brand-builder and terrific people leader has opened within our Brand team. Reporting to the Director of Brand, the Senior Manager of Creative Services will lead Bupa's Australian in-house creative team, the Blue Agency.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and growing an in-house capability for design and essential creative services with employees and a network of external partners to deliver effective and efficient creative services for colleagues and customers in Australia, and sometimes for global projects or audiences.
Leading the internal creative team, you are the glue that keeps it (and everyone) together, delivering quality resourcing and workflow for the agency. You strive for clarity, ensuring everyone knows what needs to happen, and when, so that projects can continue moving through the agency in a seamless fashion. You are always looking forward, anticipating potential issues and connecting all the dots.
The Blue Agency is the foundational member of Bupa's new creative services agency village alongside a small group of outstanding external creative suppliers. Your leadership and experience working within an agency environment will help the village's success in its first year and build maturity in the operations and capability of the Blue Agency to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Sitting alongside enterprise Brand colleagues, you will be a member of the Brand Leadership Team and the extended leadership group for Customer & Transformation. As you work with colleagues across the enterprise, your leadership and vision for high quality and consistent creative communications will help to embed our brand platform, Healthcaring.
What will your day look like?
Lead and manage the internal design team, the Blue Agency, including people management, workflow and prioritisation, and overseeing the delivery of high-quality creative work.
You are the figurehead of the in-house creative team model and will build key relationships with Marketing, Communications and Operations teams within the business to embed the Blue Agency as their creative partner.
Oversee all creative developed by the team, ensuring alignment to brand strategy and brand identity, and maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual style across all channels.
Manage a diverse group of people, including but not limited to the Account & Traffic Manager and creative designers.
Curate a center of creative excellence and community of practice through your relationship with external creative suppliers, ensuring Bupa achieves value-for-money and outstanding creative work across its in-house and external creative and production teams.
Together with other members of the Brand Leadership Team, you will drive a high-performance culture across the Brand function and set a high standard for colleagues in related fields across Bupa.
You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.
What do I need?
5+ years leadership experience in a management position of an operational, marketing services, communications or design and production team.
Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and motivate creative teams, produce high quality work, and build a high-performance environment.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrations of building positive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and external partners/vendors.
Success in managing operational teams including strategic planning, resource allocation and workflow, financial management including budgeting, forecasting and optimising teams.
Experience working within an advertising/creative agency or internal creative team is highly valued.
Experience working within a fast paced, corporate environment and flexible to accommodating changing requirements and priorities is highly valued.
Relevant qualifications in design, marketing, communications, business management or similar to demonstrate a dedication to professional development and growth.
Proficiency in creative software and tools (e.g Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
