Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN)Full-time (100%), permanent position in a high performing teamBase salary will be in the range $130,046.60 - $137,525.81 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 9)Based at our vibrant St Lucia CampusAbout This OpportunityIn this position, you will lead the development, implementation and review of an external engagement, communications and marketing strategy at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), based on AIBN's strategic plan and brand positioning, to raise awareness of the research capabilities, expertise, and value to the community for the Institute. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop, implement, and review a strategy that assists these stakeholders in attracting funding to the Institute.
Key responsibilities will include: Strategy Design, develop and lead the implementation of a marketing and communication strategy that is aligned to and enhances the brand positioning of AIBN and the University's strategic plans.Build rapport and engagement with key stakeholders from across the Institute and university, to develop a media and content strategy based on the Institute's strategic plan and positioning that increases the brand, presence, and reputation of the Institute.Develop content that builds and communicates a coherent and strategic understanding of the Institute's priorities, strategy, values, and research.Provide expertise and guidance to key stakeholders on the Institute's brand and reputation, leveraging avenues to creatively market the Institute's priorities with world-leading research.Provide new and creative avenues for the Institute to build strategic relationships and partnerships with various sectors, including but not limited to, government, philanthropic and private industry.Seek opportunities to increase the brand knowledge and positioning of the Institute through attending key internal and external events as required.Stay abreast of opportunities and challenges impacting the Institute and Industry, providing proactive counsel and content on how to leverage/mitigate these.Management and Leadership Work collaboratively across the Institute's senior leadership team and the marketing and communication community.Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships at all levels of the Institute, particularly with the Institute's senior and executive leadership groups, and across the marketing and communication community at UQ.Provide expert advice, advocate for best practice and leverage strategic buy-in at all levels, while ensuring marketing and communication activities are aligned with strategic priorities.Ensure the strategic planning and initiatives of marketing and communication are sustainable, improve capability and drive continuous improvement.Lead and develop a small, highly engaged, multidisciplinary, high-performing team with responsibility for marketing and communication, and advancement and engagement functions.Lead and advocate for a service-oriented and agile culture in the marketing and communications team.Contribute to the ongoing development of a proactive, disciplined, efficient and cost-effective operating environment for the marketing and communication function.Work with and manage external parties to ensure the outcomes from contracted services meet the Institute's needs, deliver value, and are procured within established guidelines.Organisation Develop and implement programs to engage with stakeholders, including, but not limited to, staff, students, industry, partners, government, alumni, and the community, and demonstrate how these deliver value to the Institute's strategic priorities and strengthen its reputation.Develop and deliver successful campaigns that showcase how the Institute are delivering globally significant research outcomes.Lead the execution of marketing and communication programs designed to engage with stakeholders.Proactively track reputational risks and work closely with relevant stakeholders to develop integrated communication strategies designed to mitigate and minimise reputational risk.Stay abreast of global best practice and recommend contemporary solutions, channels, and tools to support communication with key stakeholders.Advocate compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and business processes and ensure coordination, consistency, and accuracy of content and collateral across the University.Ensure that appropriate evaluation mechanisms and plans support an evidence-based approach to communication and stakeholder engagement strategies, that are frequently communicated and/or readily available to key internal stakeholders.Implement and manage appropriate data collection methods to enable strategic market plan development and regular marketing strategy evaluation.Develop and manage budget for delivery of AIBN marketing and communications staff and initiatives.About Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN)The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) creates solutions for some of society's most serious problems in health, energy and the bioeconomy.
