About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager to lead our Capital Works Portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager Works Delivery, the role is accountable for overseeing the planning, delivery and safe execution of all maintenance and minor capital field work across Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage, Waterways and Catchments for Melbourne Water, ensuring optimisation of internal and external resources, and efficiency of delivery. Achieving on-time and on-budget performance, by managing resources across programs of work to deliver best for organisation outcomes. 
This includes constructing an environmentally sustainable portfolio of projects to enable Melbourne Water to continue to meet its service delivery to customers and meet associated obligations and aspiration of the organisation and its stakeholders safely, cost effectively, and meets defined performance and quality outcomes.
Project management at a high level, developing and executing delivery strategies of the minor project's portfolio.Managing the tender process and program of works in construction, as well as understanding program and project safety, implementing intervention strategies as required.Setting up effective stakeholder relationships, efficiently managing internal and external approvals processes.Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.The successful applicant will be deemed a SOCI critical worker.A valid Driver's Licence is required as this role includes travel, an operational works vehicle is provided.About you: You will have experience in leading large geographically dispersed teams of project managers, and a passion for driving culture and strategic process improvements. You will foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals, holding people accountable and managing performance. Be exceptional at communication, relationship management, with the ability to influence other senior leaders to achieve business outcomes, amongst conflicting project priorities.Have extensive skills and experience in the delivery of field-based maintenance and minor capital programs including a varied understanding of alternative project delivery models. The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.
Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck. This role is deemed critical and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
