Job Description Opportunity to join Westpac's Mortgage Operations BCM Team Established career path and progression opportunities Adelaide or Sydney based permanent role (2 days per week from the office) How will I help? We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager who will provide 1st Line Risk and Compliance advice to the Mortgage Operations Business. You will ensure that Mortgage Operations meets all requirements as a part of the operational risk framework, as well as continue to partner with the Mortgage Operations Leadership team to drive improvements in risk maturity.
You will also lead up to 4 BCM Managers, ensuring high quality control testing, risk in change assessments as well as strong oversight of incident and issue management. A customer focused risk approach will be invaluable in this role as we support our stakeholders to deliver great customer outcomes.
You will also: Provide risk expertise to the business in the identification, assessment, and actioning of risk and controls to drive a strong risk and controls culture that helps achieve business objectives. Lead a team of 4 BCM Managers; to develop their skills, capabilities and execution of the BCM activities. Provide input into a range of small to large change initiatives and oversee the sign-off documentation for any changes with a business impact. Support the proactive and effective monitoring, management and reporting of current and emerging risks and facilitate a strong risk culture, risk governance and ownership of risk throughout the business. Review, evolve and deliver the Mortgage Operations monthly risk forum to ensure we measure and improve risks across the business. Coach and support the business to build greater risk awareness and capability. Work closely with transformation and project teams to deliver continuous improvement providing risk expertise that results in successful implementations. Partner with Mortgage LOB to support uplift, maturity and day-to-day management of Value Chains. Partner with stakeholders to identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices in the business. Provide risk advice in the assessment and implementation of change across Group Operations where required. Provide input into the quality of JUNO records and updates to drive a risk focused culture. As part of a team of risk professionals contribute to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of the Group. What do I need? 5-10 years' risk experience. Experienced senior risk management professional with strong banking / financial services / risk assessment experience. Tertiary qualifications. Roles with strong influencing and negotiating requirements. Relationship building, teamwork and influencing skills. Ability to use data to drive decision making, insights and improvement across the organisation. Proactive, organised and outcomes focused. Think critically and maintain the ability to constructively challenge. Ability to balance multiple initiatives with the ability to deliver timely results.
