The Information Management Taskforce is responsible for designing and implementing management action tracking and dashboard tools for an information system uplift. The Taskforce also continues to manage the Ocean Discovery and Restoration Program and lead internal and external knowledge brokering to facilitate greater engagement in key Parks Australia stories and strategic outcomes.
The key duties of the position include:Deliver data management and governance solutions.Build an effective management action data tracking tool and integrated data communication dashboards in support of organisational monitoring and reporting requirements.Support a coordinated information management system, including providing quality control and assurance to management action data.Evaluate, describe, compile, create, and manage authoritative data.Process and explain information requirements and outputs to support decision-making.Communicate insights from data analysis including producing material for briefings, reporting, and publication.Ensure internal and external data and metadata is managed according to Australian Government standards.What we are looking forKnowledge, experience, skills and capabilitiesDemonstrated experience in delivering project outcomes successfully and to deadline.Demonstrated experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.Ability to work effectively in a small team.Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.Demonstrated experience using programming languages, including Python to implement integrated data management systems, and optimise and automate solutions to support decision-making.Demonstrated experience presenting database analysis and other outputs using the Microsoft suite, including Power BI and Power Apps (e.g. ArcGIS for Power BI).Demonstrated experience implementing and facilitating data management practices to Australian Government standards.Experience working with environmental management data is desirable.Desirable qualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience applying data standards or supporting data governance and management.Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, and a probation period of 6 months.
