The office location is Melbourne CBD, close to multiple transport links and the work policy for this team is 3 days working in the office, 2 days working from home.
The Role Joining an existing team, the Senior Management Accountant is a key contributor to Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting.
Your primary objective will be to provide accurate, timely and insightful information to the leadership team including the GM Finance and the COO on the financial performance of the business.
This is a forward looking role and will require for you to engage with various stakeholders to deliver the information required to improve decision making and to meet strategic objectives.
Tasks will include; Working closely with the Finance Manager - FP&A to obtain guidance and to assist where required Help drive management reporting efficiencies to enable streamlined month end processing, and support half yearly and yearly submissions to Group.
Provide key contributions to Monthly forecasting and Annual Budget process Support the consolidation of management reporting requirements within Group deadlines.
Support meaningful commentary and interrogate data where required Actively seek ways to improve work efficiency and identify areas where opportunities for business improvements can be realised Ensure the consistent, efficient and effective budgeting and forecasting cycle including achievement of internal timelines Key involvement in the accounting for contract sales and acquisitions Management of one direct report Your Profile You will be a CA/CPA (or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in the tasks described above - your ability to interrogate the numbers and provide key insights will be crucial to your success.
You will be detail oriented and able to adapt in a team environment where deadlines and priorities are shifting.
Ideally, you will have prior experience of working in a large, complex environment and potentially have worked in an ASX listed business.
Experience of producing or auditing stat accounts is also beneficial experience, but not essential.
