The Role Join Our Team as a Senior Management Accountant! Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, this role is the cornerstone of our financial management team, offering a dynamic and engaging environment. As the Senior Management Accountant, you'll spearhead the financial management processes crucial to the Town's success. From budget development to strategic analysis, you'll be at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include leadership, developing costing methodologies, managing reserve accounts with precision, and contributing to the progression of financial policies and processes. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in preparing comprehensive financial statements and reports, providing vital insights to stakeholders, and ensuring customer-focused financial information delivery. Our ideal candidate would have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce, along with eligibility for membership in a recognised professional accounting body. Demonstrated experience in financial management report preparation, budget development, and team leadership are essential. While previous experience in local government is beneficial, it's not mandatory. As Senior Management Accountant your position will also cover the below: Providing day-to-day relationship management and business partnering including strategic and operational planning, financial insights, and problem-solving. Actively managing budget development and monitoring Providing mentoring, coaching, and supervision to Finance support staff, contributing to skills and professional development. Collaborating effectively with peers and other stakeholders to deliver financial services objectives For further information, please view the attached position description.
