Band 7 - Salary Range $103,521 to $115,711 per annum + 11% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual within the City Growth and Development department.
This role provides an opportunity for an experienced and talented Planner to manage the assessment of major development applications using a facilitative management approach. It also involves a range of other duties including project management of developments through the certification and statement of compliance process, involvement in managing developer contributions and working through implementation issues associated with growth area planning.
Key Responsibilities Assess major planning applications particularly in the growth areas, using a facilitative project management approach.Assist in the development and ongoing administration of Council's developer contributions system to ensure that nominated infrastructure is provided in a timely manner in accordance with approved Infrastructure and Developer Contributions Plans.Assist in the review of existing Precinct Structure Plans and Development Contribution Plans.Provide advice to the public, developers and the clients of Council in relation to the provisions of the Melton Planning Scheme, Council's policies and strategies and planning procedures.Act as Council representative on nominated management committees, industry and government advisory committees and at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) as required.To view the Position Description, click here .
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following: A Tertiary qualification in town planning or related discipline with relevant planning experience, preferably in a local government environment.Proven project management skills, including highly developed skills in planning and managing workloads to meet statutory timeframes and achieve quality outcomes.Experience and skills in the assessment of large and complex development proposals to achieve quality outcomes.A thorough understanding the Victorian planning system, including the Victoria Planning Provisions and ResCode.Culture and Values Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there's a place here for you too. Our organisational values represent us as an established growth Council and the values are reflected in everything we do; our decision-making, our actions and our service provision to the community.
