Senior Logistics Supervisor - TANZANIA Key Points Permanent role based at the Nyanzaga Project, Tanzania6 weeks on, 3 weeks off roster (fly from anywhere in the world)Competitive remuneration packageThe Role Perseus Mining is looking for a meticulous Senior Logistics Supervisor to ensure efficient and compliant operations, focusing on field logistics and procurement management. You will work closely with a dedicated team and collaborate across multiple offices to ensure the smooth operation of our exploration activities.
Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent, your responsibilities will include monitoring the procurement chain, managing stock levels of exploration consumables, overseeing the fleet of exploration vehicles, coordinating staff transport, and liaising with project teams to effectively address logistical needs. Your expertise will be vital in streamlining operations and supporting our exploration initiatives.
Monitor the procurement chainManage inventory levels of exploration consumablesConduct critical analysis of stock management reports.Manage and maintain the fleet of vehicles used for exploration activitiesCoordinate the staff roster, collaborating with logistics and security teams for personnel transport.Support and interface between the Projects team and Exploration Teams Assist with setting up, maintaining, and managing camp and core shed facilities.Prepare and maintain digital and hard copy forms for logistics and administrative procedures..Oversee and coordinate the transportation and distribution of materials and supplies Prepare reports on logistics operations and activities Document procedures and establish systems and processes for procurement management.Ensure compliance with the Tanzanian Mining Act and Local Content Regulations, 2018.About You Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders:
At least 15 years of relevant experience in a similar roleExperience in the mining and exploration industry across Africa.Fluent in English (written and spoken); Swahili is an advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.A high level of integrity and professionalism, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.Relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management, ideally within the mining or exploration industry.Experience using ERP software for ordering and cost management.Valid passport with the ability to travel to Tanzania.Clean criminal record and a valid driver's licence.Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities.Where You'll Be Working This position is based at our Nyanzaga project in Tanzania, situated near the city of Mwanza. The Nyanzaga project is a significant gold exploration and development project located in the northwest region of Tanzani.
