Job Description Your key responsibilities will include: Providing technical expertise associated with overhead lines from 66 kV to 500 kV.Providing technical expertise associated with tower structures (also includes communications towers).Providing expert input to asset management strategies and philosophies.Providing expert input to line performance and technical specifications.Providing expert input to the development of equipment standards.Contributing towards optimised maintenance policy/practices.Determining line ratings and publishing these ratings for planning purposes.Initiating projects (develop concepts, prepare business cases and project handover documentation).Supporting the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives.Developing business cases for economic capital works plans.Supporting Network Operations to achieve annual capital and operational works plans.Supporting long-term asset reliability and resilience plans and regulatory submissions.Assessing and reviewing the condition of installed transmission line assets.Reviewing/auditing asset data quality and related databases.Investigating and analysing transmission line equipment failures or problems, drafting reports, etc.Making technical decisions in relation to transmission lines. The Successful Applicant Relevant training or qualification in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering.Knowledge of relevant software packages used for analysis and design of transmission lines and structures, e.g., PLS-CAD suite.In-depth knowledge of transmission system components, equipment, and technologies, with a focus on transmission lines and emerging trends and innovations.Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards.Understanding of relevant Regulatory frameworks and legislation.Understanding of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice.Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations.Ability to connect with organisational strategy and identify what is required at a tactical level to achieve it.Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment.Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimise asset performance.
