About the Role
The Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch aims to enrich the lives of residents and visitors by providing arts and cultural leadership, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections, and experience.
As a Senior Library Officer, you will contribute through excellent individual and team efforts to the high-quality customer service provided to the community and assist with the day-to-day provision of library operations, guiding the development and implementation of a frontline service delivery model that enhances the customer experience.
About you
You will manage the day-to-day operation of library branch circulation, providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers, in accordance with Council's commitment to Sunshine Coast residents.
You will be responsible for rostering, supervising, and assisting library staff (when required) in the provision of frontline services to library users to ensure quality control of circulation procedures and appropriate distribution of workloads.
The role also requires you to provide leadership to staff, participate in work team activities, and contribute to relevant training, professional development, and change management strategies, all while delivering high-quality customer service.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Diploma of Librarian and Information Science, Community Development, or another related discipline.
You will have previous experience in a library environment, customer service environment, or other relevant experience.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength, and dexterity to carry out laboring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
