Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 2 of EBA5 9 day fortnight 72.5 hour fortnight Location: Bribie Island, Redcliffe, & Caboolture (we also encourage applicants who are interested in other locations, to apply for this opportunity) About our opportunity We are currently seeking Senior Library Assistants to join our team at Bribie Island, Redcliffe & Caboolture!
In this role, you will undertake a broad range of library tasks and provide library customers with positive service experiences and general assistance in their use of library resources.
This position will have you supporting the operations of the library while also promoting, preparing and delivering library programs and activities, and assisting and guiding library assistants and volunteers.
More specifically, you will assist and support library customers by delivering a broad range of library customer service activities such as loans, returns, reservations, memberships, and providing sound digital information.
Our Bribie Island Library is open 6 days/week, closed on public holidays.
We operate at this location with a 4-week rotating roster, and the successful applicant will need to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours.
We anticipate the roster for this role will include working 1 Saturday every 4 weeks, and shift times will be between 8:00 am to 6:15 pm and may include late closing on Thursday evening at 7:15 pm.
Our Redcliffe Library is open 7 days/week, closed on public holidays.
We operate at this location with a 4-week rotating roster, and the successful applicant will need to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours.
We anticipate the roster for this role will include working 1 weekend (Sat & Sun) every 4 weeks, and shift times will be between 8:00 am to 6:15 pm and may include late closing on Friday evening at 8:15 pm.
Our Caboolture Library is open 7 days/week, closed on public holidays.
We operate at this location with a 4-week rotating roster, and the successful applicant will need to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours.
We anticipate the roster for this role will include working 1 weekend (Sat & Sun) every 4 weeks, and shift times will be between 8:00 am to 6:15 pm and may include late closing on Tuesday evening at 8:15 pm.

Bringing experience in a library setting, you will be well adept at delivering quality collections, programs, reference, and reader advisory services.
You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to engage constructively and support customers to meet their needs.
As the library environment can be fast-paced and heavily customer-focused, you will be able to:
make decisions and manage your time effectively uphold professional conduct and professionalism encourage a positive working environment easily navigate and use databases, internet and online resources, social media, and digital technologies such as tablets and eReader devices You will hold a valid Qld Working with Children blue card or be eligible and willing to obtain prior to commencement.
