NSW Health has established a Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) which will provide a secure, holistic and integrated view of the care a patient receives across the NSW Health system.
The SDPR program will transform how people experience and deliver care across the state, providing benefits for the people of NSW and the NSW Health workforce regardless of their location and role.
It will bring the state healthcare system together, unifying access to patient clinical information in one view. This will help to provide connected, transparent and safe care for any person at any public healthcare setting statewide. All NSW Health care teams and clinicians, no matter where they work, will securely access the same information about a patient in real time from one source.
About the Role The Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) has been established to coordinate the implementation of the SDPR across NSW Health.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Officer to work within the SDPRIA.
Reporting to the Legal Manager, you will be responsible for providing legal, governance and policy advice on matters relating to the SDPR such as contract, commercial, privacy, and compliance to ensure well informed decisions can be made.
In this role, you will also review proposals to ensure liability, statutory, and other obligation issues are properly addressed as well as develop policies, procedures, guidelines and templates for the SDPR. You will liaise with senior executives across the health system and other government agencies on "whole of government" legal issues to ensure the health systems obligations are recognised.
This role demands a forward-thinking approach with a strong focus on providing quality sound advice to deliver value. You will also build strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance the overall success of the SDPRIA.
About you To be successful, you will have:
Legal qualifications, admission as a Legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of NSW and eligible for a current practising certificate from the NSW Law Society Extensive legal experience in commercial, privacy and governance or other matters Applied analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports to influence decisions Excellent organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise, multi-task, deliver business goals, perform and always work with a customer focused approach.
