Senior Legal Officer (Litigation Lawyer) Skip to content Senior Legal Officer (Litigation Lawyer) Allygroup is seeking an experienced Lawyer (3+ years PAE) to join a federal government agency on a secondment arrangement for an initial period of three months.
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Litigation team in the department's Legal Division, responsible for managing a small but complex and varied respondent litigation caseload. The role is located in Canberra but our client is also open to remote/flexible working arrangements.
Job share arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.
A baseline security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required. Some of the key duties include: Managing a range of matters from judicial review matters, through to class actions and AAT matters Managing all steps in the litigation process, such as reviewing submissions, arranging witness affidavits, and assisting with discovery.
Ensuring the department continues to meet obligations under the LSDs.
Working with external law firms and across the Commonwealth on litigation matters.
Managing subpoenas on behalf of the department.
