The Public Trustee is establishing a talent pool for experienced legal practitioners for permanent, full time and fixed term opportunities available for the next 12 months.
Currently, there is one permanent position available for immediate filling.

About the role The Public Trustee offers independent, professional trustee and asset management services to the Western Australian community.
These include deceased estate administration, and personal trustee and administration services.
The Legal Directorate is accountable for the provision of Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting service.
Additionally, the Directorate prepares applications for probate and provides advice or conducts litigation on matters on behalf of the Public Trustee.
The Senior Legal Officer is responsible for the provision of legal services on a range of routine and moderately complex legal matters in one or more of the following areas:
Providing legal advice and conducting litigation in respect of the administration of deceased estates, trusts, and estates of incapable personsProviding legal advice on conveyancing and probate matters and preparing conveyancing and probate documentsAdvising the Public Trustee on corporate matters.A lawyer performing this position is deemed to be a government legal practitioner as defined in the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2022 (WA) and therefore the occupant is required to hold, or be eligible to hold, a current Australian practicing certificate issued by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia.
Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes.
Permanent, fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
