As part of DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of Legal colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities.
We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Sydney, Australia.
Job Purpose: Senior level legal professional responsible for negotiating complex contracts or advising the businesses served within a region/sub-region/country or cluster of countries on relevant legal matters.
Responsible for defining and recommending legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DHL Group's legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal frameworks, standards, applicable laws, and regulations.
Provide strategic support to the business and Management to assure alignment between legal and business needs.
Supports senior lawyers within Oceania, including working directly with the VP, Head of Legal, and Legal Director to provide the legal function.
Works with senior colleagues to establish best-in-class legal processes and procedures to assure business objectives are met and major legal opportunities and risks are identified, exploited, or mitigated.
Your tasks: Advise members of the business on legal and related risks associated with DHL's operations in the area of responsibility.Provide a comprehensive "one stop shop" for subject matter legal expertise to one or more DHL business units in the area of responsibility.Review legal analyses and technical reports to recommend senior management on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in laws and regulations.Review and approve legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.Represent the organization in complex, controversial, significant, or specialized legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities.Prepare or review complex materials for external legal counsel.Coach less experienced legal staff and help them resolve problems.Conduct work associated with Legal Counsel, Patent/Intellectual Property Law, Legal Research & Document Drafting, Contract Negotiation & Administration, and Legal Records Management.Carry out multiple roles in addition to BAU work, including membership of Practice Groups and role of Privacy Counsel.Advise business on legal trends and developing areas of law.Design and implement legal risk mitigation strategies in own area of responsibility.Work with supervisor to manage all aspects of internal and external legal spend.Assist with budget preparation for the legal function.Ensure the organization's legal interests are represented and protected in customer, vendor, and third-party contracts.Defend the organization's legal interests in litigation and claims.Understand legal technology and its potential use in delivering legal services.Your profile: Education Level: Law Degree or equivalent experience/qualification.Experience Level: More than 6.5 years PQE.Solid understanding of DHL's operations, goals, and strategies.Subject matter expert with the ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise in a business environment.Strong analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.We offer: Great opportunity to work for the biggest logistics company in the world.International and virtual environment.Flexibility and great opportunity to learn.Tempting compensation and benefits.DHL Group is an equal opportunity employer.
