Responsibilities
Manage large professional indemnity claims and public liability
Oversee Security of Payments (SOPA) for the business and maintain regulatory and legislative compliance
Lead national dispute negotiations and claims management
Managing a range of complex contentious matters and significant domestic and regional client relationships
Advising clients on complex litigation and contractual, regulatory and legislative issues
Providing high-level strategic advice on dispute avoidance and risk management
Be part of a collaborative Global Legal Team and play a pivotal role in a growing global business
The Successful Candidate
A Senior Associate / Special Counsel level lawyer, in a Professional Indemnity team of a tier one firm or currently doing this work in-house in a similar construction organisation. Circa 8-12 years PQE
Proven ability to handle complex legal issues with business-focused solutions, coupled with strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
Strong knowledge of Security of Payments Act (SOPA)
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including client representatives, engineers, and external counsel
Solutions-focused and strategic approach is essential
A senior lawyer who can work both autonomously and collaboratively to deliver effective results for the business
