Our client seeks an experienced Corporate M&A Lawyer with at least 8 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their Global Legal Functions team in Sydney. This role is pivotal in providing strategic legal counsel on corporate transactions, primarily acquisitions, disposals, transaction finance/treasury, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. As a member of the Global M&A Legal Team, you will also have the opportunity to work on international deals, including those in the UK, Europe, and the USA.

Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing all legal aspects of acquisition transactions, from inception through completion and integration. Conducting thorough due diligence to identify and mitigate potential legal risks. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating acquisition-related agreements and transaction documents. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams, to align legal strategies with business objectives. Advising on corporate governance matters and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Managing relationships with external legal counsel and professional advisors as necessary. Keeping abreast of developments in corporate law and M&A practices to provide proactive legal guidance. To be considered for this exciting in-house opportunity, you will possess :
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent; admission to practice law in Australia. A minimum of 8 years PQE in corporate law, with a strong focus on M&A transactions. Demonstrated hands-on experience in leading complex acquisition deals, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration processes. In-depth knowledge of Australian corporate law and regulatory frameworks. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Travel requirements: Domestic 1-2 trips per month. International 1-2 trips per year.
