Coles is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel specialising in litigation to join our dynamic legal team.About the RoleAs a Senior Legal Counsel at Coles, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support across a broad spectrum of litigation matters. Your primary responsibilities will include:Managing and overseeing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.Advising senior management on potential legal risks and implications of litigation matters.Developing and implementing effective litigation strategies to protect Coles' interests.Collaborating with external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless case management.Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting the company.Ideally you will have:A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution.At least 7 years of experience in litigation, with a proven track record of managing complex legal cases.Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct detailed legal research and analysis.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal arguments clearly and persuasively.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.A proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving and case management.Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.What's in it for you?Flexible working options: We know that work is only one part of your life, so we actively encourage a positive work-life balance and provide hybrid working options to help you achieve it.Office perks: Take advantage of our gym facility and fitness classes, free parking, BBQ area, mini-Coles supermarket, fooderie hub where you can sample new products before they hit the shelves, school holiday program and so much more when you come in.Discounts: Eligible team members receive 5% discount all year round on your Supermarket and Liquor online and in-store purchases.
