The Opportunity As part of the Legal team within the Risk & Governance division of La Trobe Financial, your primary responsibility will be to provide legal services across the whole business and each of its divisions. This is a multifaceted role which will provide you with the opportunity to upskill yourself as well as partner with key divisional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Providing practical and accurate legal advice to the business (including in relation to lending, and funds management); Assisting business executives to implement digital, regulatory or funds management projects and advising on key legal issues; Briefing top tier law firms to advise on complex legal issues and advising the business on the same; Reviewing / preparing transactional documents (confidentiality agreements, service and supplier agreements etc.); Legal support for funding transactions (RMBS transactions and institutional warehouses, etc.); Reviewing and advising on marketing, advertising and disclosure documents; Assisting with corporate governance / company secretary functions; Assisting with risk and regulatory compliance projects; Assisting with the management of complex mortgage enforcement litigation matters (working with La Trobe's internal Legal Action team and external counsel); Investigating and managing complex customer complaints and disputes. About You 5+ years PAE with a reputable firm and/or in house LLB Current practicing certificate Financial services industry exposure is essential. Excellent negotiation and decision making skills Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work confidently with people at all levels within the business Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to manage competing priorities and short deadlines Strong commercial outlook and "team player" attitude Employee Benefits Flexible working arrangements.
