We're looking for a first-class product and commercial lawyer, based in Australia, to join the Linktree Legal Team.
This role would be suited to someone who is passionate about joining a rocket ship start-up in the technology and creator space, and who thrives on acting as a true business partner, advising on a diverse range of cutting-edge legal issues.
We have a lot of exciting projects and workstreams, such as social and e-commerce, major brand partnerships and integrations, AI / ML, and more.
You'll need to have experience advising on innovative products and legal issues for an international technology company, with a detailed understanding of product and commercial best practices.
You'll also ideally have exposure to privacy laws (particularly GDPR) and generalist legal skills, such as intellectual property, marketing and advertising, incident response, etc.
What You'll Do:Reviewing new products and advising on necessary changes;Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and partnerships;Advising on marketing and brand campaigns and collaborations;Working with other functions to support Linktree's business, including on new policies for internal and public-facing initiatives;Assisting our Support Team to resolve disputes and escalations;Providing real-time advice to various teams and squads across Linktree, including Product, Growth Business Development, and Brand.Who We're Looking For:Be qualified to practise law in Australia – any other additional jurisdictions (UK, California, NY) would be highly beneficial;Have at least 8 years of strong experience, with an emphasis on product, commercial, and generalist law (including consumer law experience);Be able to overlap some working hours with the United States west coast (Pacific Standard Time);Have great attention to detail and organisational skills to manage numerous initiatives at once;Be a self-starter;Have strong business acumen - this is an entrepreneurial start-up, where you'll be expected to weigh risks and come at problems from a commercial angle;Have great communication skills - your job is to make the complex simple;Be comfortable with ambiguity, a fast-paced culture, and have a practical, solutions-oriented focus.Experience in other jurisdictions internationally (UK, USA);
Experience in payments, e-commerce, and the creator ecosystem;
Experience advising on privacy laws, notably GDPR and potentially CCPA.
