About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel and Company Secretary.
With a focus on the negotiation and preparation of a wide range of commercial contracts and provision of legal advice, the role acts as a key point of contact for senior managers in relation to all legal issues affecting the Bolton Clarke Group.
This is a rare opportunity to join the in-house legal team of Australia's largest aged care provider.
Key tasks
Advise on a broad range of areas including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing, commercial, construction, ICT, property, privacy, retirement villages and aged care.
Provide advice to senior managers in relation to corporate projects, including strategic transactions and business transformation initiatives.
Assist internal clients in identifying, understanding and managing legal risks and issues.
Effectively manage the provision of advice by external legal providers where required.
Brief the General Counsel on significant legal matters.
We would love to hear from you if you have
5 - 15 years post admission experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, practising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate, construction, property, aged care or retirement village law.
Previous commercial, property or aged care / retirement village law experience is desirable.
A demonstrated ability to provide concise advice and research on a broad range of legal issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication ability.
A demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, excellent time management skills and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
