About the role Due to internal promotion and team growth, we are seeking a new Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Legal and working in a high performing legal team, this dynamic role will provide legal advice and support across the business, lead complex legal projects, drive strategic initiatives and shape our legal landscape.
The successful candidate will work on a range of diverse and challenging matters, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, leading continuous improvement in legal processes, and providing mentorship, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Key responsibilities: Draft, review and negotiate contracts Provide clear and succinct legal advice Legal input into projects and cross functional teams Assist with corporate governance matters Monitor changes to relevant legislation and ensure compliance Direct external lawyers to achieve cost effective solutions for the company Develop, maintain and manage professional relationships with AAL's internal stakeholders to act as a reference point within the business for legal advice Develop and review internal legal processes and precedents Mentor and develop junior team members The Person The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of post-qualification experience, strong expertise in commercial and/or corporate law, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proactive approach to compliance and continuous improvement within a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience In-house legal experience Experience in construction or IT law Familiarity with aviation law or a keen interest in the aviation sector.
