We specialise in complex and large-scale litigation, with a focus on commercial and shareholder class actions.The firm was established five years ago by senior litigators who previously led the Australian and UK class action litigation practice at one of Australia's largest plaintiff law firms.The firm has a strong commitment to social and environmental justice and is looking for people who want to make the world a better place.Job DescriptionProvide high level case management support including management of court orders and matter deadlinesFile and document managementCoordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logisticsCoaching and mentoring legal assistantsWorking with the Operations team to coordinate resources for upcoming deadlinesMonthly billing including reviewing and amending narrativesPrepare & format complex legal documentsPreparation of electronic briefs and sourcing out paper briefsElectronically filing documents through Court portalsCorrespond with counsel, courts and clientsImplement and improve administrative processes for a more efficient workflowRespond to file management queries including iManage and AderantIdentify and provide training for lawyers and legal assistants when necessaryDesired Skills and ExperienceCareer-orientated Senior Legal Assistant with over 5 years experience in litigationStrong understanding of legal procedures and the Australian judicial system (Supreme and Federal Courts)Ability to manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidenceProficient in the use of legal software, including document management and case management systemsAdvanced O365 knowledge and skillsExperience with monthly billingAdvanced typing and computer literacy skillsExperience in using Bundledocs (e-brief solution) (not essential)Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsA proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamExceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlinesA commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professional conductThis is a career Senior Legal Assistant role and not suitable for law students.Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia – Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.QualificationsSenior Legal Assistant certification or relevant diploma and at least 5 years experience in a similar roleCultureWe believe that most people aren't perfect at everything, but that we can all be great at something.
