About the role This role has a teaching and research focus. Working in a new course, the Senior Lecturer will collaboratively contribute to the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of an innovative curriculum and pedagogy for the Master of Speech Pathology. They will lead unit and course teaching teams to develop, implement and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes, taking on specific leadership roles, for example, Course Director. The position will work with the local community and lead growing, increasingly productive, high-quality research, scholarship and engagement activities.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will: Integrate industry, clinical, collaborative and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences. Integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and perspectives across curriculum and teaching practice. Lead the development and/or adoption of new innovation in curriculum design Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research. Seek funding for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and production and high-quality outcomes and provide effective mentoring to HDR students To be successful, you'll have: Qualification as a speech pathologist at undergraduate or graduate level plus a PhD in a relevant area or advanced qualifications and extensive experience in academic speech pathology. Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of speech pathology professional competency development and standards, and of contemporary issues relating to the profession. Demonstrated excellence in student engagement and demonstrated experience in leadership roles Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision. Growing research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals. Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline Other requirements per the attached position description Here's how to apply:  Please submit your updated resume, a short cover letter and responses to the Key Selection Criteria.
