About the role The successful candidate for this position is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a department, school, faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area.
An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

Key Responsibilities Engage in teaching and assessment in nursing courses offered by the University.
Deliver, develop, and coordinate courses on offer in the nursing discipline.
Support ongoing curriculum development and quality assurance processes for all aspects of internal and where appropriate external accreditation requirements for the School.
Lead quality activities including peer review and benchmarking activities and course review.
Supervision of Graduate Diploma students and act as subject coordinators.
Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students engaged in coursework.
Be active in the recruitment of students and the marketing of the programs offered by the School.
Perform interim and summative evaluations of courses and make recommendations about relevant changes required.
Work collaboratively with other academic staff members to ensure coherence and quality in all aspects of the academic program.
Qualifications, skills & experience Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent and a Postgraduate qualification or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
Current nurse registration with Ahpra.
Have at least 3 years clinical nursing experience.
A demonstrated ability to provide high quality teaching in a University setting and demonstrated experience with course coordination and academic governance.
A demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management.
Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
