We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Lecturer, Indigenous Health to enhance our teaching programs and conduct research related to Indigenous Health within the University of Wollongong's Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program.
In this role you will be instrumental in designing and implementing the curriculum, ensuring alignment with the accreditation standards set by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for medical programs.
You will collaborate closely with the GSM Academic Lead, Admissions and the MIHS Pre-Medicine Course Coordinator to recruit, select and support Indigenous students in the Pre-Medicine Course, for success in the MD program.
To be successful you must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage with a developing academic record and hold or are working towards a PhD with extensive experience in health/medical education at a tertiary level in a relevant discipline or medical specialty qualification.
Experience or potential in teaching Indigenous health at a tertiary level along with a strong understanding of Indigenous health issues in an Australian context and an ability to build links and connections with the Indigenous community is essential.
Additionally, an enthusiasm for advocating for and supporting student learning is required, along with a collegial teamwork approach and strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
