About Us The School of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates and the degree program has received international accreditation.
A central part of the training is development of core clinical competencies and as part of this process veterinary science students undertake training in our hospital, clinics, and clinical services.
In addition to the training of undergraduate veterinarians, SVM also trains a number of postgraduate specialists in Residency programs.
Veterinary professional practice is central to the curriculum within the School of Veterinary Medicine.
The program contributes to the teaching of all veterinary students as well as participating in international collaborations on graduate outcomes and day one competencies.
The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University is an ASAVA accredited facility with a robust referral, emergency and primary care caseload across a breadth of companion animal and food animal species.
The Animal Hospital provides clinical experience for fifth year veterinary students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and provides caseload for the raining of residents and specialty trainee postgraduate students.
The Role A Senior Lecturer within the Clinical or Professional Scholar track is expected to have a record of clinical and professional excellence within the field of small animal medicine, and to have experience in the delivery of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate clinical training.
A Senior Lecturer makes a considerable contribution to the University's postgraduate supervision and is expected to play leadership roles in university administration and in the discipline's clinical service within the Animal Hospital.
This position makes a substantial contribution to all teaching activities within the discipline, as well as a substantial contribution to the College and profession.
What you'll bring to this role Higher Academic qualifications (eg.
Masters) in Small Animal Surgery or related discipline and recent teaching experience at a tertiary level in Small Animal Surgery Experience with teaching of postgraduate student enrolled in specialist training program in Small Animal Surgery Ability to successfully supervisor Honors, postgraduate and HDR students Applicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
