About the Role
The Senior Lecturer will play a pivotal role in advancing the quality of teaching and learning across the diverse range of medical school courses within the College of Medicine and Public Health. This position involves making a substantial contribution to the leadership of educational initiatives and the scholarship of teaching, leveraging innovative practices and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
The successful candidate will utilise their extensive experience in clinical practice to forge meaningful industry partnerships that facilitate work-integrated learning. They will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative placement models, ensuring high-quality educational experiences through clinical skills training, simulation, and service provision.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Lecturer will be a key leader in service to the College and the broader University community, promoting excellence in education and collaboration.
About You
Summary of the key capabilities:
Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Relevant and extensive contemporary clinical experience in General Practice including holding a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
Significant and sustained evidence of development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education
Demonstrated willingness and ability to contribute to scholarship in teaching through participation in teaching and learning strategies and in professional development in higher education teaching
Evidence of excellence in medical teaching performance, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting
Strong understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.
