Rural Clinical School Part-time (20%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2025
Base salary will be in the range $134,845 - $155,246 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C)
Based at our Bundaberg Hospital About This Opportunity The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver teaching related to ethics and professional practice across the entire MD program, with a focus on the first and second years, while also contributing to various other teaching and learning activities.
Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Provide the teaching for the ethics and professional practice components of the MD program.
Work closely with the relevant academic staff in the Academy for Medical Education to ensure a high quality teaching and learning experience for students in the area of ethics and professionalism.
Teaching Impact/Research: Maintain personal academic standing including the pursuit of research and scholarship.
Foster and support a positive research culture within the RCU.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Effectively lead and develop student performance and conduct by providing feedback, coaching, and professional development.
Citizenship and Service: Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align to the UQ values.
Contribute proactively and respectfully to the Medical Pathway, Rural Clinical School, Learning Community and Regional Clinical Unit.
About You Medical qualification and a non-GP Specialist or General Practice Specialist qualification, with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia, with AHPRA.
Knowledge and experience in ethics and professional practice theory and/or clinical practice.
Recency of clinical practice as a medical practitioner in Australia will be highly regarded.
Evidence of a substantial contribution to quality clinical teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional level.
Demonstrated experience and capacity in the delivery of medical education materials relevant to small and/or large group settings.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a complex environment.
Demonstrated capacity to engage with and/or develop scholarly work in medical education.
High level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues and the relevant external partners.
A commitment to and an understanding of the issues surrounding, living and working in a rural and/or regional area.
