Senior Lecturer in Agronomy and Soil Water Management School of Environmental and Rural Science Continuing, full-time$131,671 to $151,624 per annum (Academic Level C)Plus 17% employer superannuationSalary packaging options are available4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annumRelocation assistance providedApplicants must have appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of this position (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)About the role The School of Environmental and Rural Science has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in the discipline of Agronomy and Soil Science to provide teaching and research leadership and expertise in soil science, crop agronomy, and water management.
The successful candidate will formulate and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, build and lead a research group, apply for research grants, undertake research, supervise HDR students in relevant disciplines, take an active leadership role in broader curriculum development and coordination within the School, and perform administrative duties as necessary to maintain a high level of functionality within the School.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in crop agronomy and/or soil science.
We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in soil water science and effective water management in productive agricultural systems.
You should be an innovative educator delivering research-informed, student-centred teaching, capable of inspiring critical thinking in both online and face-to-face settings.
You should be able to demonstrate effectiveness as a supervisor of higher degree research students, and bring to the role a strong and growing national research profile, with success in securing independent funding, building collaborative relationships with industry and funding bodies, and a track record of high-impact publications.
