Part-time, 1 day per week, 2-Year Fixed Term Contract Base Salary Level C from $150,461 - $173,492 (pro rata) + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. With over 100 years of excellence in education, we are proud to be training the next generation of medical scientists who will be leading members of the medical research community with an innovative integrated curriculum. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in FMH Media Lab.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Build and maintain a reputation for academic excellence through independent and innovative contributions to research, expanding knowledge and practice in the discipline.
Disseminate research knowledge and facilitate knowledge transfer to drive impact.
Maintain a research profile, including publication in academic or professional journals and engage in keynote addresses.
Lead successful competitive research grants and/or generate other research income by exploring diverse funding opportunities.
Maintain quality, standards, and excellence in research activities and output.
Provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics.
Make a significant and holistic contribution to the research, administrative, and governance activities of the school or faculty, including participating in committees and academic boards.
Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence, and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda.
Engage in community and alumni outreach, contribute expertise to public debates, and play a significant role in scholarly, research, or professional activities relevant to area of expertise.
Establish partnerships, collaborations, and engage in translational research for impactful outcomes in research, development, commercialization, and policy improvement.
Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you Have a PhD in a relevant field.
Have an established research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the field of emerging technologies and education, and/or related fields of practice.
Will ensure that the Faculty of Medicine and Health research and teaching is at the cutting-edge through the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI, VR, AR, and XR.
Have experience in teaching and learning, including demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives using emerging technologies.
Have a developing network of relationships with academic, consumer/advocacy, industry, and/or professional organisations, partners, and stakeholders.
Have experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities.
A developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
