About the role This position reports to the Discipline Head of Exercise & Sport Science in the School of Health Sciences and is located on the Fremantle campus.
The role comprises teaching in both Sport and Exercise Science and specifically in the domain of Clinical Exercise Physiology, with the applicant having a Clinical Exercise Physiology-focused background.
Key Responsibilities Development and delivery of high-quality curriculum in Sport and Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology that is informed by research and incorporates innovative blended learning activities and assessments to ensure a high level of student satisfaction and pastoral care.
Maintaining involvement in professional activity, including current and maintained registration with Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
Engaging in research opportunities within the school.
Assisting the Practicum Coordinator to identify possible practicum opportunities for undergraduate Clinical Exercise Physiology students.
Supporting the School in marketing, recruitment, enrolment and course orientation.
Administrative duties and other course-related activities; and Other duties as directed by the Head of Discipline.
About You You are passionate about the field of Sport and Exercise Science, specifically Clinical Exercise Physiology; hold or working towards a post-graduate qualification in Sport and Exercise Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology, hold a registration with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), and are currently practicing as an AEP.
Qualifications, skills & experience Strongly committed to and supportive of the Objects of the University.
Hold or are working towards a post-graduate qualification in Sport and Exercise Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology, and registration with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
Currently practicing as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
Demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum development of Exercise and Sports Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology.
Proven track record of high-level academic teaching performance.
Ability to integrate industry experience with academic teaching and research.
Proven ability to manage a variety of academic duties and adhere to timelines.
Knowledge and experience in cardiorespiratory and neurological exercise rehabilitation and exercise oncology is desirable.
