We now have the following exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor, Pharmacy to join our team at the College of Medicine and Dentistry based in either Cairns or Townsville:
ABOUT THE ROLE Associate Professor, Pharmacy (#492413) This Senior Academic role is vital for delivering strategic leadership and support to the pharmacy discipline, particularly in Cairns, where strong leadership has been instrumental to the department's success.
You will champion excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement while playing a key role in developing a high-quality, innovative curriculum that aligns with JCU's mission to address the health needs of tropical, rural, and remote communities.
The Associate Professor will have clinical and academic pharmacy experience and an established research publication and supervision record.
By working closely with key stakeholders—such as the Australian Pharmacy Council, hospital networks, community pharmacists and pharmacy industry partners—you will foster collaborations that enhance educational and research outcomes, driving meaningful advancements in pharmacy practice.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE You will hold a degree and postgraduate qualifications in Pharmacy or other appropriate degree in a related area in the pharmaceutical sciences and demonstrate relevant teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
You will bring an understanding of the rural, remote, tropical and Indigenous contexts in relation to education and health service delivery.
The ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, is essential.
