offers an exciting opportunity to a collaborative, relationship focused and experienced leader. Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure and Assets, the role is supported by a capable Parks and Sustainability Team. This challenging role is responsible for the development of strategic plans and management of parks and sustainability related infrastructure for the City of Launceston , in particular, parks, sports and recreational facilities, open space and reserves, waste management and sustainability. Some of the key activities include responsibility for: Preparation and monitoring of capital operational budgets, annual and departmental plans and major works and City asset programs, and to ensure effective and efficient service delivery Management and development of service levels, policies, procedures and practices as they relate to the various areas of the portfolio Provision of risk management guidance and leadership to the team Undertaking projects as requested by the General Manager relating to infrastructure, assets, sustainability, waste and green assets Leading and developing management, conservation, asset and special purpose strategic plans for malls, parks, reserves, sporting facilities, waste management and sustainability Ensuring proactive and constructive advice and communication is provided to all internal and external stakeholders, including the community as required Investigating any technical complaints raised internally or externally relating to asset management, ensuring effective and timely resolution Undertaking emergency management responsibility in conjunction with the General Manager when required.
You are community focused, collaborative and highly effective in developing and managing stakeholder relationships across a diverse asset and/or infrastructure related portfolio. Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, recreation, environmental or a similar discipline will be ideal, along with substantial experience in asset management and related strategic planning. Experience managing budgets, service levels and delivery will also be critical to success.
