As our highly valued Senior Lead UI Designer based in Brisbane, you will be responsible for leading a team of UI Designers (and Digital Copywriter) to design optimal customer experiences across our digital platforms to drive customer engagement, satisfaction, conversion, and loyalty to create value for our customers, people, and the organisation.
This is a full-time permanent position based in the Brisbane office.
You'll make an impact by: Leading the design and management of our Design System across our digital platforms to create a refined suite of reusable components, patterns, and templates guided by established design principles and UX research.Remaining a hands-on UI Designer while leading and mentoring your team of UI Designers to cultivate a high performing team and support a positive team culture.Being an advocate for the customer and a positive and enthusiastic champion for the digital agenda, working closely with the Senior Manager DX to guide the DX roadmap and strategy.Responsibilities of the role: Lead a team of UI Designers to design optimal and leading experiences across our digital platforms including website, online banking, mobile banking, and online sales, service, retention, and aviation journeys and applications/services.Lead UI design best practices and processes to uphold quality and efficiency of the team.Design seamless, frictionless, and contextual user interfaces and journeys.Own our Design System, maintaining quality, adherence, and rigor to support an optimal state for our digital design solutions.Work closely with the optimisation team to identify, define, and design testing opportunities.Interact with business owners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to communicate designs.Apply insights and evidence from available user research and competitor intelligence to ensure designs support effective customer experiences.Be a hands-on UI designer to develop outstanding interactive digital experiences through ideation, innovation, research, prototyping, and stakeholder engagement.To succeed in this role, you will have: 6+ years' experience in a UI design role designing across digital platforms including responsive web, online services, and/or mobile apps.3+ years' experience leading and mentoring a team of designers.Skilled at creating high fidelity designs, designing micro-interactions, creating prototypes, and working with UX designers/researchers to validate design ideas with user testing.Well versed in best UI design practices and principles, accessibility standards, and general design trends across platforms.Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate and present solutions, ideas, and recommendations.Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills, with high attention to detail.An excellent portfolio showcasing your UI designs and development of design systems for multiple form factors (e.g., mobile, tablet, desktop).Your qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Design in a relevant field (e.g., digital experience and interaction design, UI and web design).Proficient in using design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe CS Suite).High level knowledge of front-end development frameworks.Why Great Southern Bank?
