Security (Information & Communication Technology) Talent International is partnering exclusively with Western Sydney University to uplift their Cyber Security capability and as a result are managing the recruitment process for a variety of cyber security roles in their Cyber Security Assurance and Operations (CSAO) team with their mission to provide cyber security advice, risk management, and incident response for the University.
The Senior Lead, Cyber Security Operations is responsible for leading and managing the University's overall cyber security operations, ensuring the effective protection of its information assets and systems.
The role will effectively identify and prioritise security threats and vulnerabilities.
This position will lead a team of deep subject matter experts who are committed to supporting the diverse business, research and academic objectives delivered by Western Sydney University.
The Senior Lead, in collaboration with the Chief Information Security Officer, will oversee the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive cyber security strategy that aligns with the organisation's risk management framework.
This position plays a pivotal role in building CSAO by enabling evidence-based and intelligence-informed decision-making to support the CISO in providing impartial cyber security guidance to the University's leadership and governance bodies.
Key Duties (not limited to)Develop and implement in collaboration with the Chief Information Security Officer the University's cyber security strategy.Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.Collect, analyse, and disseminate threat intelligence to inform risk management decisions.Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritise cyber security risks.Ensure compliance with relevant cyber security laws, regulations, and standards.Develop, implement, and maintain cyber security policies, procedures, and standards.Minimum RequirementsIn order to be considered, we are seeking skilled Cyber Security professionals who can demonstrate the following:
Tertiary qualification (preferably postgraduate) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline and substantial relevant experience in a Cyber Security team in a large work environment.Expertise in offensive security tools, highly proficient with Metasploit, Kali Linux, Cobalt Strike, Mimikatz, or similar tools.Scripting Proficiency: Ability to create scripts and regular expressions in a preferred scripting language.In-depth knowledge of system security vulnerabilities, remediation techniques, network protocols, and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, etc.
).Security Engineering Expertise including understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication, and security protocols.Proven extensive experience in cyber threat analysis, cyber security operations, and intelligence analysis.Please note a full job description can be provided upon request.
