We are seeking a remarkable Senior Lawyer/Senior Associate to join our high performing Public Sector Brisbane team

The Role
You will be involved in providing advice to government agencies on a variety of project planning and acquisition matters, as well as undertaking Land Court litigation. This role will see you involved in valuation, town planning, hydrology, forensic accounting, economic need, quantity surveying and civil engineering. Working with experts in different fields offers the unique opportunity to expand your breadth of knowledge and expertise into new areas and widen our industry network.
The type of work we do is broad and we often advise on issues that call for consideration from other practices including Real Estate, Major Projects & Construction and Environment & Sustainable Development. If you enjoy working collaboratively and gaining exposure to other practice groups this role provides the opportunity in abundance. This role is a full-time or part-time opportunity, we are open to discussing a part-time arrangement that suits your working preferences. You will work closely with another part-time Senior Associate to provide full-time coverage.
Key responsibilities
A high level of client interaction and exposure to prominent government clients
Undertaking advisory work, drafting short form agreements related to land, and drafting court documents; and
Liaising with clients, experts and counsel
Managing files with the support of junior resources in the team and attending court appearances
Briefing and liaising with counsel
Collaborating with other practice groups including Real Estate, Major Projects & Construction and Environment & Sustainable Development
Attendance at mediation, court hearings and reviews
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 5 years post admission experience
Experience in planning and acquisition in a private practice or in-house environment (litigation, property, and/or government experience would be advantageous)
A naturally collegiate mindset and positive and enthusiastic attitude, which prioritizes respect for peers and collaborative working
