Other (Legal) Government - Federal (Government & Defence) About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the Commission) is a regulator established on 1 July 2018 as an independent agency under section 181A of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (the NDIS Act) to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia. Key duties of the position As Senior Lawyer in the Litigation Team, you will have primary carriage of a number of litigation matters assigned to you and will lead the team working on each of those matters.  Responsibilities of the Senior Lawyer include: day to day management and leadership of each litigation matter, including: providing prospects and strategy advice; preparing evidence; preparing court and AAT documents; preparing for and running interlocutory applications; preparing for and running trials; complying with all internal and external policies and guidelines, and internal and external reporting requirements; Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Attributes The role would suit litigators with at least 7 years experience in the areas of administrative law litigation and civil penalty litigation, who are also exceptional leaders and mentors. You must thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and enjoy juggling multiple competing and constantly evolving priorities. The successful candidate will have: Demonstrated sound experience in administrative law litigation and civil penalty litigation, including: familiarity with among others, the Federal Court Rules and practice directions, the Federal Court of Australia Act 1976, the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1977, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975, and AAT practice directions and guidelines; drafting originating process, pleadings, submissions and other court/AAT documents; appearing in courts and before the AAT; and preparing high quality briefs to counsel; Excellent drafting and advocacy skills; Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
