Senior Lawyer (International Sanctions Specialist) Skip to content Allygroup is seeking an experienced lawyer with a strong background in international sanctions law to join our high-profile client for an initial 6-month secondment opportunity with the possibility of further extensions and a view to permanency. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of international sanctions regimes, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of advising clients on international law. Candidates must be based in Canberra and hold an NV2 clearance or above to be considered in this role. Key Responsibilities:provide expert legal advice on international sanctions, including financial, trade, and United Nations Security Council sanctionsdevelop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant sanctions laws and regulationsprepare high-quality written analysis for agency, executive and Ministerial audiencesadvise clients in deliberations and proceedings related to sanctions enforcementstay updated on changes in sanctions laws and provide timely updates to clients and internal teamscollaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex legal issues and develop strategic solutionsSkills/Experience:minimum of 3 years of experience in sanctions law, preferably in a top-tier law firm or government legal departmentstrong understanding of international sanctions regimes, including UN, EU, and US sanctionsexcellent research, writing, and communication skillsability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentproven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesThe Allygroup Advantage At Allygroup, we believe work should empower and inspire you.
