About the role We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to join the Darwin Office for a Full-Time permanent position. The role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our office leader and the leadership team for the Northern Territory to develop your leadership skills and to also enhance your technical abilities as a senior lawyer. You will be part of a team that is committed to social justice in the Northern Territory and will be given opportunities to contribute to policy and advocacy work in order to bring about change in the Northern Territory, particularly in the compensable injury regimes. At Maurice Blackburn it is important that our clients receive exceptional legal advice no matter where they live and therefore you will have the opportunity to travel throughout the Territory to support our clients.
Your responsibilities will include running personal injury files, working with leadership, developing and mentoring lawyers of varying levels of experience, team management support of both lawyers and legal support team members, with a key focus on building the practice, helping to oversee the financial performance of the office, and day to day management of office matters.
The experience we are looking for You will ideally have experience leading a team and be able to meet the following criteria:
Extensive experience in Workers' Compensation, Public Liability and Motor Vehicle Compensation claims (preferred).Demonstrated litigation experience (essential).Proven leadership and people management skills.Demonstrated capacity in executing business development.Excellent interpersonal skills with experience providing high level client service.Demonstrated proactive approach to file management.Experience working in a high-volume work environment.Join us in making a difference in the lives of people in the Northern Territory!
