Our client focuses on supporting individuals facing financial hardship, violence, discrimination, and other forms of disadvantage. About the position:

Our client is seeking a Senior Lawyer to enhance access to justice through direct legal practice, community legal education, advocacy, and mentorship. You will be based at their vibrant community centre and will travel to various locations in Brisbane, Ipswich, and Logan.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive legal services in areas relevant to people experiencing disadvantage (e.g., civil law, family law, criminal law)

Participate in court rosters for domestic and family violence duty lawyer services

Organise and supervise the volunteer legal advice clinic

Mentor and supervise early career lawyers, law students, and volunteers

Develop and conduct community legal education programs

Contribute to law reform and advocacy efforts

Key Requirements:

Unrestricted practising certificate with considerable legal experience

Experience in providing legal advice, casework, and representation in relevant areas of law

Domestic & Family Violence Duty Lawyer and/or Child Protection Duty Lawyer accreditation is highly regarded

Commitment to social justice and values aligned with the organisation's mission

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proven ability to manage workloads, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Experience in supervising and mentoring staff is highly regarded

Valid driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
