We are currently looking for a senior lawyer (7+ PQE) to join our innovative Dispute Resolution & Litigation team. In this role, you will be involved in a diverse range of litigation matters providing sound and practical advice for private sector clients. The types of matters are very wide ranging, involving contracts, Corporations Act and Takeovers Panel, Competition and Consumer Act, equity and trusts, regulatory investigations and criminal prosecutions, negligence, insolvency, insurance and bonds, misleading or deceptive and unconscionable conduct, competitive/antitrust as well as Royal Commissions and coronial inquests. The work is complex and legally challenging which will see you working closely with leading partner Timothy Atkin, and alongside other exceptional litigators and like-minded professionals in a collaborative team environment. You will be recognised for personal achievements and receive mentoring from senior team members to ensure your professional skills continue to grow and develop. About you You will have solid private practice experience, sound knowledge of court practice and processes and you will be confident in utilising your proven analytical and drafting skills. You will work on large matters directly with the partner and junior lawyers, and will also be able to manage and conduct your own matters with partner involvement at critical junctures. Someone who is commercially minded and has a client focused attitude will find themselves succeeding in this role. In addition, you will have: Strong client relationship and service skills Significant broad commercial litigation experience (advisory, mediation, hearings and litigation) Strong technical, drafting and research skills Strong teamwork ethic and ability to supervise and mentor younger lawyers Impressive academic qualifications An engaging manner with excellent communication skills at all levels Well-developed negotiation skills and strong attention to detail Experience working autonomously Why join Maddocks?
