Department: Legal ANZx Legal ServicesDivision: Legal & Corporate GovernanceLocation: MelbourneAbout UsAt ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Lawyer who will work with our General Counsel & Regulatory Strategy Lead to define and deliver a Risk and Regulatory strategy for customer migration.Role Type: 2x permanent roles availableRole Location: MelbourneWork Hours: Full time or 4 days per weekWhat will your day look like?As a Senior Lawyer, you will:Help the Customer Migration group achieve its change initiatives while appropriately balancing legal risk and regulator risk.Provide commercially focussed, technically excellent, strategic, and solutions-orientated legal and regulatory advice to legal, risk and business stakeholders, helping to ensure the right outcomes are achieved.Help formulate and drive solutions for the Customer Migration group's most complex legal, regulatory or customer issues.Become a trusted partner to the Customer Migration leaders and executives by helping assess and implement strategic change, growth initiatives and regulatory change. Providing strategic advice on regulatory issues facing the Customer Migration group.Developing and demonstrating a deep understanding of the business, including its strategic agenda and customers.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Relevant experience as a lawyer (as an in-house counsel and in private practice) with strong technical legal expertise and proven ability to exercise excellent judgement in the identification and management of legal risk.Ability to deliver timely legal advice in a way that helps the business achieve its commercial objectives while understanding legal risk.Communicate clearly and effectively.A well-developed risk radar and confidence to speak-up and escalate risks appropriately.Tertiary legal qualification.Admission as a lawyer in an Australian State or Territory.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
