Senior Lawyer - Crime (Cairns)

As a senior lawyer, you will represent legally aided clients and instruct counsel in complex and high profile criminal law matters, while assisting the principal lawyer to supervise the legal work of, train and guide staff within the team. What you will do Represent clients including preparing matters Provide duty lawyer services in the Magistrates and Children's Courts and appear on higher court call-overs and mentions Help the Principal Lawyer to supervise legal work and develop the legal skills of, train and guide staff within the team About you: The successful candidate will have Extensive experience in the conduct of summary and indictable criminal law matters and related areas of law Detailed knowledge of the practice and procedure of criminal law, evidence and ethics The ability to contribute to the professional development of others What we can offer you 36.25 hrs per week (full time hours) 12.75% employer super contributions Generous salary packaging available Study leave for approved work-related courses Interested?
