Planned Resources are seeking a skilled Landscape Architect to join a regional council located in the western front.
This role is a temporary Role (6–12 months) and is offering a generous hourly rate.
The Council's Design Team is seeking a skilled Senior Designer to temporarily join their team.
This role focuses on advancing public realm and community projects from initial concept to "pre-design" stage, including site analysis, concept development, project costing, and community engagement.
The Senior Designer will contribute to creating impactful designs that enhance the city's public spaces for the benefit of both the organisation and the community.
As part of the Economic Growth Division within the Development and Growth Directorate, the City Design team provides design and arboricultural expertise across Council projects.
The Senior Designer will play a critical role in progressing public realm projects like streetscapes, bike paths, and green spaces.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in landscape architecture, urban design, or civil engineering, who can bring creative and sustainable solutions to life, prioritising climate responsiveness and urban greening.
Responsibilities:Conduct site assessments, analyses, and concept development to ensure comprehensive project understanding.Develop illustrative concepts for internal discussion, community engagement, project costing, and design briefs.Produce detailed documentation for tender and construction, including technical specifications and construction oversight as needed.Collaborate with various council divisions and provide design support for projects in growth and infrastructure areas.Required Skills & Knowledge:Demonstrated experience in public realm landscape or urban design, or civil engineering.Proficiency in site assessment, graphic representation of design ideas, and the ability to document streetscapes, trails, and other projects.Expertise in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Project.Strong written communication skills, with experience in preparing plans, reports, and technical specifications.Knowledge of plant selection for urban environments and landscape construction is an asset.Familiarity with contract administration and community consultation practices.Council are looking for an immediate start; however, are flexible for the right candidate.
You will be required to work in the office with some work from home available.
